SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PROSTATE HEALTH MONTH

We take this time to remind everyone that while it is true that a normal prostate grows with age, causing problematic urinary symptoms in some men, and that individualized screening for cancer is appropriate for others...the prostate gland should not be presented or framed only in the context of disease. This is a huge "nocebo"! Afterall, for the majority of men, it is a healthy accessory sex organ. And too often, symptoms can be erroneously ascribed to the prostate gland.

Lifestyle behaviors which promote prostate health are the very same as those which would be healthful for one's heart, gut, and mind.

NEWS FROM THE FARM

We have just completed our application for SIP certification, which means Sustainability in Practice. (Learn more here). We have been working hard to achieve these benchmarks.

Meanwhile, Dr. Payne won a $140,000 grant for our farm's energy conservation project. It has allowed us to convert to solar energy and more efficiently run our wells.
